To broaden understanding and support for the New York State constitutional amendment which declared that the Forest Preserve shall be forever kept as wild forest lands.

Sun Breaks Through the Clouds on the Summit of St. Regis Mountain To foster public interest in the conservation of natural resources, especially in the Catskills and the Adirondack Mountains.

To promote the acquisition of additional forest land for protection of watershed, wildlife, and recreational use; to advocate sound forest management outside the Forest Preserve.

To teach and encourage proper non-destructive recreational use of the woodlands and mountains, and to offer instruction in outdoor skills.

To organize and conduct regular outings in the Adirondack and Catskill Preserves, in a safe and friendly atmosphere.

Our Creed

Beaver Pond on the way to Third Brother I support the Club's work to insure that the lands of the State constituting the Forest Preserve shall be forever kept as wild forest lands in accordance with Article XIV, Section 1, of the New York State constitution. I wish to be a part of the Club's volunteer-based conservation, education and recreation activities aimed at protecting the Forest Preserve and encouraging outdoor recreation consistent with its wild forest character.
